 October 27, 1998 Dear FTP Software Customer: FTP Software, Inc., a subsidiary of NetManage Inc., is committed to engineering its products so that the transition into Year 2000 is a smooth process for our customers. While not all past and present products have been reviewed and tested for Year 2000 compliance, we intend to have Year 2000-compliant products for Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 3.x, and DOS platforms. FTP Software’s Year 2000 development and testing work will continue until and beyond the Year 2000. Our software development group has conducted code reviews and tests of the compliant products on our list. The code-searching and testing criteria are based on the attached software checklist. As a result of our Year 2000 analysis, we have a better understanding of the development effort involved. FTP Software will only review the latest version of our currently shipping products, older versions of our products will not be reviewed or tested. FTP Software will only certify versions of software that have undergone Year 2000 review and testing by FTP Software. FTP Software has produced new Year 2000 versions of PC/TCP Network Software for DOS, PC/TCP DOS Kernel, OnNet16 Kernel and OnNet16 for Windows 3.1x, and Windows for Workgroups. With the production of a new version of PC/TCP, customers can feel comfortable with a decision to remain with DOS into the Year 2000 and beyond. If customers decide to shift from DOS to Windows 3.1x, we will be ready with OnNet16, a Year 2000-compliant Windows 3.1x product. For customers that choose to move from their existing DOS or Windows 3.1x platforms to 32-bit Windows 95 or Windows NT platforms, OnNet Host Suite v5.0 is available.
